Connect Slack so your agents can read channel history, respond to @mentions, and reply in-thread.

What it can do

• Triggers. An @mention of the workspace Slack app fires a run.

This integration does not support Write today.

Triggers and Workflow posts use the workspace Slack app, not this integration. An administrator sets up that app under Configuration > Slack app. A Workflow trigger lists the channels the app is in, so builders need neither this integration nor a personal Slack account to pick one. This integration copies messages from the channels you pick into the Project so agents can read them.

Who connects this

Admin-enabled OAuth. Your Slack workspace admin installs the platform Slack application once. After that, builders OAuth their own access.

Approve decisions from Slack

A Workflow can send a decision to a Slack channel when it pauses for a person. Add slack_channel with the channel's ID to the notify of a human.request step. When the run pauses there, the Slack app posts the question, the saved form values, and the answer buttons to that channel.

A reviewer answers with a button, or selects Open decision to review it in the app. Notes, edits, and email review happen through Open decision. The answer records who decided and resumes the same Workflow. When the decision is answered or cancelled, the message updates and its buttons disappear. A later click cannot replace the answer.

To answer in Slack, a reviewer needs permission to work the Project's Work items and a linked Slack account. To link the account, send the Slack app a direct message, open the link it replies with, and sign in if asked.

If the message cannot be delivered, the decision in the app shows the failure. Check the app connection in Configuration and that the app is still in the channel, then select Retry Slack notification. The Workflow does not rerun. If updating the message fails after the answer, the answer stays recorded, and Retry Slack message update tries again.

Slack decisions need a one-time setup.
