First-time setup
Configure workspace branding

Configure workspace branding

Branding makes the application look like your organization's — a display name, your logo, and your brand color. It's purely cosmetic and applies across the workspace.

This is the first-time (self-hosted) setup. For the day-to-day reference once you're running, see Branding in Administration.

Configure this under Configuration > Branding in the application. It's an admin-only setting.

What you can set

SettingDetails
Workspace nameThe display name shown next to the logo and used as the browser tab title — for example "Acme Corp" instead of a deployment slug. This is cosmetic only: it does not change your deployment's URL or subdomain.
LogoYour logo image — the top-left icon in the app, also used as the browser favicon. You can upload separate light and dark mode versions.
Primary colorA single brand color. From the one hex value you pick, the app generates the full color ramp used across both the light and dark themes.

Logo requirements: PNG only, square, transparent background, 256 KB or smaller. Upload a separate version for dark mode so the logo stays legible on a dark background.

Set it up

Step 1: Open the branding settings

Go to Configuration > Branding.

Step 2: Set the workspace name

Enter the display name you want shown next to the logo.

Step 3: Upload your logo

Upload a square, transparent-background PNG (≤256 KB) for the light logo, and a separate one for the dark logo.

Step 4: Pick your primary color

Choose your brand color with the color picker (or enter a hex value). The app derives the rest of the theme from it.

Step 5: Save

Save your changes. The new name, logo, favicon, and color apply across the application.

Branding is optional and cosmetic — if you don't set it, the application uses the default Sema4.ai name, logo, and color.

Reset branding

To go back to the defaults, use Reset to default on the Branding page and confirm. This clears the workspace name, logos, and color, restoring the default Sema4.ai name, logo, favicon, and theme.
