Snowflake Native App
Sema4.ai is available as a Snowflake Native App, running entirely inside your own Snowflake account. Your data stays in Snowflake — the app queries data granted directly to it, with no copy leaving your account.
This section covers how to install and administer the app:
- Installation — get the app from the Marketplace or a private listing, choose a release channel, and connect it to Sema4.ai backend services.
- Snowflake Cortex LLMs — run agents on Cortex models, with no external API keys.
- User access and roles — grant access through Snowflake application roles and manage what each user can do.
- Data connections — connect to Snowflake data granted to the app, import Cortex Analyst Semantic Views, and reach external databases.
- API access — call the REST API and agent MCP endpoints with a Snowflake programmatic access token.
- Maintenance — manage compute cost, back up and restore data, find the app's logs in Snowsight, and report issues.
- Logs and Telemetry — query app logs and resource metrics from your Snowflake event table, and control what telemetry is shared with Sema4.ai.
Access in Snowflake works differently from the self-hosted edition: there is no email-invitation flow. Users are granted access through Snowflake roles. See User access and roles to get started.
